The most famous Spitfire in the world, flying again.
Spitfire Mk.1a N3200 was issued to No. 19 Squadron at RAF Duxford in April 1940. Flown by Squadron Leader Geoffrey Stephenson, it was shot down over Dunkirk and crash-landed on the beach near Calais. Stephenson spent the rest of the war as a prisoner of war — and N3200 was slowly claimed by the sand. Uncovered decades later by storms, it was rescued, painstakingly restored, and returned to the skies above its spiritual home at Duxford. This photograph was taken there.
Edited to achieve a vintage look and feel, and printed on Ilford Cotton Paper for a warm, textured finish — this is a print with a story behind every grain.
